china falun gong lawsuit

a2 George Bush should go ahead and let the victims and survivors of Chinese labor camps sue, even if China does threaten to quit shipping their tainted blood thinner.

Bo Xilai Between 1999 and 2004 big shot Chinese Politburo member, and former Trade Minister, Bo Xilai ,was operating some forced labor camps in the Liaoning province, where adherents of the outlawed Falun Gong religious movement, along with a handful of Catholic priests and Protestants, were subjected to various forms of torture.

cheneys_parts The camps were able to turn a tidy profit by harvesting the organs of those religious prisoners who were a match with their international transplant customers.

Although none of this has yet been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in a United States Court, it has been established to the satisfaction of the State Department and the United Nations.

Beyond the Red Wall Falun Gong Nonetheless the Bush administration has asked Judge Richard J. Leon to dismiss the case, filed by some camp survivors under federal statutes which permit victims of foreign torture to sue.

They fear the lawsuit will have “a chilling effect on U.S.-China relations.”

In court pleadings submitted by the administration it was argued if the lawsuit went forward it would create a “diplomatically undesirable inquiry” into Bo Xilai's “responsibility for alleged torture and extrajudicial killing,”

Indeed China’s Foreign Affairs Minister Li Zhaoxing warned Condi Rice of dire financial consequences if the case went forward.

china falun gong lawsuit Even though the Chinese have become the new Muslims, and it is not socially acceptable to utter a discouraging word about them, and the sad truth is the People's Republic could bring the American economy to its knees if it so desired, we really should take a timid stand, despite the possibility of causing economic disruption to Walmart.

The United States thinks economic sanctions work so well in getting bad guys to knuckle under, despite our experience with Cuba and Iran, only because we are such hopeless wimps.

There is a law on the books that provides victims of International thugs some legal redress in America. But, our comically deluded president only thinks it should be available when the brutality occurred in a two bit country that doesn't matter.

bush kowtowing china The administration was quite willing to sucker punch a third rate Mesopotamian bully in the name of liberation, but those who have been beaten, suffocated, submerged in sewage, raped, or had their liver plucked out by the government of our favorite payday lender, can't even bring a lawsuit.

Land of the meek, and home of the morally bankrupt.

P.S.—

Today, April 25, another human rights issue will be getting some attention. It is the Day of Silence in schools across America:

a2 Wow, there haven't been this many China enthusiasts since back in the day when Barack Obama's Weathermen buddies wouldn't be caught dead without Chairman Mao's little red book.

cafferty 3 Last week CNN's resident curmudgeon, Jack Cafferty, made the startling observation that China exports a lot of “junk” and that their leaders are more or less the same type of goons they have always been.

The Chinese government demanded an apology. Today thousands of protesters gathered outside CNN's Hollywood studio. One of the leaders, Lake Wang , told the LA Times:

“We understand free speech. But what if Cafferty said this about other racial groups? I think he would be fired. I think he's jealous of China."

Mr. Wang understands free speech about as well as the goons that savagely rule the country of his ancestors.

mao zedung The modern era of China was brought into being by Mao Zedong and the Communist Party. In the process they executed about 27 million Chinese, primarily because they did not agree with the Chairman's idiotic idea of a dictatorship of the proletariat, which would then magically usher in the worker's paradise.

But China has evolved from the heady revolutionary days of sending educated people out to work the rice fields, and a steel mill in every backyard. It has followed the same path that all ideologies do.

They start out as a movement, become an organization, and end up being a racket.

china human rights At least Mao was sincere. The current leaders of China are just hypocrites. They no longer believe, like Mao and his comrades on the Long March, that the People's brutal enslavement will someday end in a communal eden. But nonetheless they still utilize Mao's dictatorial means—but the only purpose is to line their pockets.

Does Mr. Wang seriously deny the Chinese record on human rights? It is so massive that I am not going to attempt a summary. I will just point out that if Mr. Wang, and his fellow protesters, were indignant about a Chinese commentator, they would not be permitted to gather outside CCTV's Beijing studios.

china censorship And if he wanted to get his grievances out in a blog, he would not be able to do any research by googling terms such as “freedom” and “liberty”. There would be zero hits since Google has partnered with the glorious leaders of the People's Republic, in censoring it's people.

china censorship But if he did get his rant out on the Internet, he would soon find himself under arrest, since Yahoo or Google would provide the government with the necessary identifying information to locate him.

After ten years of reeducation in the Chinese penal system, Mr. Wang might understand what “freedom of speech” means.

However, if you now need a good laugh, check out this website, setup by the "People of China" to give us the straight dope.
